UT3 will be released in November 2007

UT3_logo_new

It’s official now !

UT3 will ship november this year for PC and PS3.
Xbox360 will ship in 2008.

Check the new E3 trailer (with release date) :

New details:
* The PC and PS3 versions of the game are now on the final stretch of development, and are due this November.
* Single player will be a big component of UT3, featuring online co-op with “decision points” which allow for non-linear gameplay. Examples of these choices might be the option to ignore or fight an invasion, or to steal some technology that might give you access to more advanced weaponry.
* Mods will be created on the PC version and “cooked” and put onto a Memory Stick to allow them to work on the PS3 version. At the moment Epic is looking at ways to get mods onto the PS3 via the PlayStation Network.
* The gameplay video appears to show the Ripper weapon from the original UT making a return in UT3.
* Deployables are a big part of the game that Epic hasn’t really talked about yet - these include a “slow volume” that slows down bullets and projectiles and is ideal for placing in front of a flag. Spider-mines also make a return, and UT3’s AVRiL (anti-vehicle rocket launcher) now has a targeting laser.
* As previously revealed, the Impact Hammer is back - this weapon’s alt-fire is an EMP attack which can be used to deal large amounts of damage to vehicles.
* The UT3 translocator has a limited number of shots, similar to UT2004’s.
* Teleporters in UT3 work like those seen in Prey and Portal - you can look through them and see what’s on the other side.
* The Manta is back, though not quite as powerful as before. One thing which has been removed is the ability to ride on the Manta’s wings (to prevent flag-running by riding the manta back to your base). Now jumping on the Manta’s wings results in a very messy death.
* Xbox 360 will get UT3 in “early 2008″.

World of Warcraft patch 2.1.3 released

Wednesday, July 11th, 2007

World of Warcraft

Blizzard has released the latest World of Warcraft patch, updating the MMORPG to version 2.1.3. The patch has some minor changes:

General

  • In-game mail containing money will now have a one hour delay and is no longer instantaneous. Auction House generated emails for successful auction sales are still instantaneous.
  • Read in-game mail will now be kept for thirty days instead of three.
  • The Warlock spell Incinerate has had the performance of its graphical spell effect improved.
  • The “show launcher” option has changed so that it now defaults to “on”. Players will now see the launcher when running WOW by default.
  • Abyssal monsters in Outland are now lootable.

User Interface

  • Improved the performance of conditional macros, slightly increasing the framerate.
  • Fixed a crash triggered by many unit frame AddOns.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed an issue with the movement of Archimonde’s Doomfire.
  • Fixed the wand missile art on most Shadow based wands to show the correct graphical effect.
  • Infinity Blades will now despawn properly when the encounter with Kael’thas resets after a wipe.
  • Gan’arg Underlings and Felhound Defenders are now properly classified as demons.

Due to the implementation of this patch, European realms will be offline until 15.00, Paris time (CEST).
